If Petula Clark's Downtown, Phidelma Gusset, Isetta cars and koalas, Quack Circles,
The 9.25 Express or Maggot Moments mean anything to you, you're in the right place!

Welcome to this unofficial history of Children's BBC Presentation, aka The Broom Cupboard.

Did you know that because Children's BBC links were (and at the time of writing, still are) broadcast live, they were not routinely recorded and preserved? The vast majority of the footage from which the pictures on this website were produced does not exist in the BBC's archives!

This means that any Children's BBC links you might have on videotapes, recorded around programmes off-air, could be the only existing copy of that particular moment.

I would be interested to hear from anybody who has Children's BBC material on tape, with a view to creating an unofficial archive of a service that defined children's television for a generation. Click here to get in touch.
